After months of planning, brainstorming, and preparation, Pamlico County High School would love to announce the birth of their very first student-led newspaper, The Black and Gold! The Black and Gold was first founded by Coralene Ellis in late 2023 and was created to serve as a testament to the creativity and passion of our student body. After being approved by our school improvement team on March 4, 2024, The Black and Gold had its first ever meeting with over 14 members, in which new, diverse topics were discussed and authentic work began to be produced. Now, over two months later, the first issue of our school paper has come to life. With an exciting, diverse range of columns including news, opinions, features, advice, sports, and more, The Black and Gold promises to deliver engaging new content each month in which the student body will be properly represented. We cannot wait to see the journey of this paper and look forward to the connection and pride that it hopes to foster. Enjoy reading below the first ever addition to The Black and Gold!
