As the year comes to an end, we finally get to see our music-listening habits from the past year! Whether it be a song you replayed a bunch of times, or that one artist you could never let go of. Music is a big part of our everyday lives, and as a student you can’t help but to gravitate towards it. 

The students at PCHS took a survey to document their year in music for 2025. Overall, Rap and Hip Hop was the most popular genre within our student body! Although Rap and Hip Hop can range from hardcore to more mellow sounds, our students connect through the mass following of that genre. The genre of Pop took second place, and Country took third place. 

Another big factor that affects your annual listening history is how long you listen to music on average. This could be during studying, reading, working out, or just vibing with your friends outside of school. Overall, the PCHS student body had a high average of minutes listened during 2025. 10,000+ minutes was the most chosen option in our music survey. 

In conclusion, music is a big part of every student’s life. Listening to music in the classroom, at practice, or at home ends up accumulating. The best reward for listening to so much music is seeing your Spotify and Apple Music wrapped at the end of the year!
