SkillsUSA is gearing up for its annual “SkillsUSA week,” which is every February. Our PCHS chapter is supporting the community, getting ready for competitions, and even baking cookies for all PCHS staff. SkillsUSA week features an interactive aspect each day of the week. Mission Monday, Tools for Good Tuesday, Real-World Wednesday, Think Big Thursday, and Future Friday are all days that every SkillsUSA chapter participates in nationally.

So, what is the PCHS SkillsUSA chapter doing to participate? Starting with Monday, PCHS SkillsUSA is reaching out into the community and thanking the alumni & friends who support all of SkillsUSA’s field trips and meetings. On Tuesday, SkillsUSA members, officers, and advisors baked cookies to distribute to all PCHS staff on Thursday during flex. On Wednesday, SkillsUSA hosted a resume workshop for all members to work on their resumes for employment, college applications, and even SkillsUSA competitions. Thursday focuses on informing the community about SkillsUSA by reaching out to local media outlets. Friday is about giving back to the community that allows our local SkillsUSA chapter to thrive. PCHS SkillsUSA has been collecting cereal and canned goods to donate to the Reelsboro Methodist Church’s food bank, which provides meals for families in need all over the county. If you are reading this and are interested in donating, contact Reelsboro Methodist Church on Facebook.
