Did you know that one in five teens across the nation struggle with stress and anxiety? It is much more common than one might think to struggle with these obstacles as an adolescent. Why? Studies have shown that a big reason for these struggles is school and the unnecessary stress that comes with it. School doesn't have to be a place of stress and anxiety. There are many simple tips and tricks that can help improve your overall well-being and mindset in school. First, be sure to take time for yourself. Often, as students, you feel it is your duty to submerge yourself in academics so much that you lose sight of any passions or goals. Although it is so important to prioritize school, also prioritizing the things you love, whether that's a sport or just reading, can help you have a clearer mindset when at school and may even improve your academic performance. Another tip to really help improve your mindset towards school is time management. Do you find that when you feel stressed and overwhelmed to turn in an assignment, you wait until the last minute to do it, and your whole day gets thrown off? Me too. Take the time to manage your assignments. Not only will this help you not get overwhelmed, but it will also provide you with more time to do the things you love. Lastly, prioritize rest. Often, you may find yourself staying up late, either playing video games or even cramming in school work. But that is setting you up for failure. Showing up to school ready to learn is so important for success. Back to time management. Make sure you remember to manage your time, and in doing so, you will find more time for rest and be much more productive the next day. Although juggling school and a social life can be hard, there are solutions. Stress and anxiety don't have to take over your life. Make sure you take the time to focus on the things you love and manage your time. In doing so, you may find your life changing for the better.
